How do I use advanced DEX trading (App)?
What's advanced DEX trading?
Advanced DEX trading provides experienced users with more advanced trading tools, including candlestick charts, real-time and historical order data, and flexible order types. It supports more advanced trading strategies and parameter settings compared to basic swap features.
What should I prepare before trading?
Before using advanced DEX trading, please make sure you've:
Create or import a Web3 wallet: How do I create/import an OKX wallet?
Deposit assets into your Web3 wallet: How do I manage my assets in my OKX wallet? (app)
Confirm the token contract address: How do I manage my assets in my OKX wallet? (app)
Note: make sure you verify the token's contract address before trading to avoid interacting with the wrong asset.
How do I make a transaction?
Step 1: Open the trading page
Open your Web3 wallet
Go to DEX (tap twice) > Advanced
Select or search for the crypto you wish to trade
Step 2: View market data
After selecting the crypto and confirming its contract address, you can use the candlestick chart to view price trends and real-time historical orders.
Step 3: Choose the order type and place order
Market order
A market order allows you to buy or sell immediately at the best available price.
On the trading page, select Market Order
Choose Buy or Sell
Select the payment or receiving currency and enter the amount
Set optional parameters (route selection, slippage, priority fee)
Select Buy or Sell and follow the on-screen instructions
Limit order
A limit order allows you to buy or sell when the price or market cap reaches a specified condition.
On the trading page, select Limit Order
Choose Buy or Sell
Select the trigger condition (Price or Market Cap, if supported)
Enter the trigger value and order amount
Set optional parameters (route selection, slippage, priority fee)
Select Buy or Sell to place the order
Note:
Some cryptos don't support Market Cap (MCap) as a trigger condition. Please refer to the page display for actual availability.
To perform a single-chain swap transaction, you need to pay a transaction fee. The required fee must be paid in the native token of the corresponding chain. For example, if you use USDT on the Polygon chain to swap for USDC on the Polygon chain, you need to pay the fee in MATIC.
Step 4: View open orders
After placing an order, you can view your open orders on the Open Orders page for the current address.
Important note
You must activate a Smart Account before placing limit orders.
Currently, only Solana, Ethereum, Base, and BSC support route selection.
When creating a new wallet, make sure you securely back up your seed phrase and private key. If they're lost, your assets cannot be recovered.
During network congestion (for example, on Ethereum), gas fees may increase significantly. If the reserved fee is insufficient, the transaction may fail.
For some tokens, rapid price fluctuations may cause slippage to increase. If your slippage setting is too low, the trade may not be executed.
After the transaction is completed, you can view your assets on the wallet Home page. Go to history to check transaction details or open the blockchain explorer.
Wallets without private keys on the app currently don't support Advanced Trading Mode. Please switch to another wallet if needed.
