Ethrex has effectively commoditized the ZK-Ethereum stack. In this environment, most EVM-style ZK L2 tokens no longer have a sustainable defensible moat. The exceptions are the few projects that do something interesting and introduce genuinely differentiated primitives, @arbitrum @0xMiden @aztecnetwork @Starknet (potentially one or two more). For transparency: I personally hold Miden and Starknet and I'm a big fan of the two projects; we also hold positions in some of the L2s whose models I am questioning. So I'm actually hurting my own bags by saying this but it's obvious to anybody that understands the tech. Tech is more important that some more money. Ethrex delivers feature parity with the current market, with materially lower complexity and surface area: around 50k LOC for the L1 client, around 15k for the L2. The codebase is intended to be fully inspectable, forkable, and modifiable. You don't need to talk to me or us to use it. You might even hate us and you can use it easily. The stack integrates with existing RISC-V zkVMs (@ziskvm @RiscZero @brevis_zk @SuccinctLabs) and will support Lambda’s zkVM next (yes, we're working on our own RISC-V zkVM too) Launching a rollup with Ethrex is a one command operation. It removes the need for a proprietary token and for narratives as an economic moat. This reduces cost, lowers risk, and aligns incentives with long-term utility rather than short-term extracts. Let's go @ethereum!
